Senior Accountant – General Ledger & Reporting

About the role

The General Ledger and Reporting team is looking for a Senior Accountant to lead financial reconciliation services and ensure the accuracy of general ledger records. You will act as a technical expert, supporting both internal stakeholders and external customers while maintaining compliance with accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver end‑to‑end general ledger management services, ensuring adherence to SLAs, quality standards and legislative requirements.
• Analyse financial accounting issues in collaboration with QSS and customer stakeholders, monitoring accuracy and compliance.
• Provide advice, coaching and mentoring to build staff capability and sustain performance.
• Develop and maintain GL&R planning and scheduling, incorporating both BAU and non‑standard activities.
• Monitor service performance metrics and KPIs, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
• Establish and maintain constructive relationships across the GL&R team, internal QSS stakeholders and customer contacts.
• Collaborate on business process reform initiatives to implement standardised work practices and drive productivity gains.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in general ledger accounting and financial reconciliation.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex accounting issues.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Commitment to maintaining compliance with accounting standards and legislative provisions.
