Security Analyst – Remote Contract (up to $90/hr)

About the role

Mercor is seeking a Security Analyst to work remotely on AI‑focused cybersecurity projects. The role is contract‑based, offering flexible hours and the opportunity to collaborate with a team of expert researchers.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and review content for security vulnerabilities, emphasizing pattern recognition and classification in an AI context.
• Apply systems programming and security expertise to improve AI model threat detection and reasoning.
• Work asynchronously with a distributed team of highly qualified experts.
• Design, solve, and review challenging, real‑world security problems.
• Maintain independent work habits while meeting project milestones.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional programming experience in C, C++ or Java.
• Familiarity with security vulnerability classification frameworks such as OWASP or CVEs.
• Solid understanding of core cybersecurity concepts, including web security and common attack vectors.
• Strong attention to detail and pattern‑recognition abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Residency in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, or New Zealand.
• Ability to pass an enhanced background check.
