Project Officer – Engagement

About the role

The Engagement team supports young people to stay in education, training and employment, especially those at risk of contact with the youth justice system. This role provides high‑quality project and coordination support for key student engagement initiatives within the Queensland Department of Education.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an electronic mailbox, maintain clear records and workflow documentation.
• Review, interpret, assign, circulate and track incoming requests promptly.
• Consolidate, edit and quality‑assure correspondence, briefing notes and requests in line with corporate standards.
• Provide clear advice and feedback to branch officers on emerging trends and project progress.
• Perform a variety of administrative and project support services as directed.

Required profile

• Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to convey information succinctly.
• Experience supporting project and administrative tasks, including financial and human‑resource monitoring.
• Positive, collaborative attitude to join an upbeat and dynamic team.
