Project Field Engineer

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Project Field Engineer to support EPCM services for the replacement of balanced machines in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The role bridges engineering and field operations, ensuring constructability plans are executed efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance on approved constructability ideas and plans throughout the FEED and project development phases.
• Initiate and manage the Constructability Program schedule, identifying construction requirements for estimating and design.
• Lead construction‑related design decisions, offering construction perspectives on schedules, equipment purchases, shop fabrication, and delivery sequencing.
• Maintain effective communication between the home‑office construction team and on‑site teams, ensuring requirements are conveyed to engineering leads.
• Participate in 3D model reviews and interdisciplinary coordination reviews to verify safety, constructability, and cost‑effectiveness of designs.
• Monitor construction performance, review deliverables, and recommend improvements to existing methods.

Required profile

• Experience liaising between engineering and field operations on large‑scale construction projects.
• Proven ability to lead interdisciplinary design reviews and constructability assessments.
• Strong understanding of EPCM processes, procurement, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Excellent communication skills to interface with home‑office and on‑site teams.
