Principal Project Officer – Engagement

About the role

The Queensland Department of Education is seeking a Principal Project Officer to join the Engagement team within the Student Support branch. This senior position will lead the program management of a statewide initiative aimed at improving student engagement and belonging.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the implementation of the Specialised Alternative Learning Program and other student engagement initiatives.
• Support program evaluations, continuous improvement activities, and performance reporting.
• Oversee data analysis, monitoring, and the preparation of high‑quality cabinet, ministerial and executive briefing materials.
• Provide strategic advice and respond flexibly to emerging priorities across education case management and student engagement.
