Principal Engineering Geologist – Senior Leadership Role

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Engineering Geologist to join our Melbourne team. This senior leadership position will shape complex infrastructure projects, influence strategic direction, and mentor the next generation of professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate project deliverables to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Provide expert technical advice, conduct complex analysis and design tasks meeting client and industry standards.
• Oversee multiple projects of varying scale, managing scope, schedule and budget.
• Contribute to business development through proposal preparation and securing new work.
• Mentor, coach and supervise team members, fostering technical growth.
• Maintain strong client relationships and manage stakeholder expectations.

Required profile

• 20+ years of experience in engineering geology or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent) and membership with Engineers Australia.
• Chartered status (CPEng) and RPEQ certification.
• Proven track record of leading complex projects and teams.
• Active involvement in industry associations.
