Primary Teacher (Fixed‑Term) – Remote Australia

About the role

Halls Creek District High School is seeking two full‑time Primary Teachers on 36‑month fixed‑term contracts. The positions are based in the remote Kimberley region of Western Australia and support a culturally rich community with a high Aboriginal enrolment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the Australian primary curriculum across literacy, numeracy and other learning areas.
• Provide targeted instruction for English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) students.
• Engage with Aboriginal families and community members to foster inclusive learning environments.
• Collaborate with school staff to implement explicit teaching pedagogy and high‑expectation practices.
• Participate in professional development and contribute to school improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified primary teacher registered with the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL).
• Willingness to live and work in a remote setting and travel to nearby communities.
• Resilient, flexible and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Interest in supporting literacy, numeracy and EAL/D outcomes for Aboriginal students.
