OT Cyber Security Lead – Asset Management & Performance

About the role

As a member of Aurecon’s Asset Management & Performance team, you will act as an independent OT cybersecurity advisor for renewable energy, rail and facilities projects. You will work across the full project lifecycle, from supplier selection through to post‑commissioning, ensuring that security is built into operational technology environments from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Review OT network architectures and segmentation strategies.
• Assess remote‑access solutions and monitoring integrations.
• Evaluate vendor and system‑integrator deliverables for security compliance.
• Identify cyber risks early to minimise downstream remediation.
• Translate enterprise IT security requirements into practical OT controls.
• Support compliance with SOCI and evolving regulatory obligations.
• Coordinate with IT security, OT engineering teams, suppliers and integrators.

Required profile

• Strong experience in OT cybersecurity within energy, rail, utilities or critical infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of OT architectures, industrial networks and segmentation principles.
• Proven advisory experience across design, construction and operations phases.
• Familiarity with SOCI obligations and industry cybersecurity standards.
• Ability to communicate risk and practical recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Comfort working in complex, evolving and ambiguous environments.
