About the role
Join the National Development Group as a National Design Consultant and play a pivotal role in shaping innovative restaurant concepts across Australia. You will ensure that McDonald’s store standards remain best‑in‑class while supporting new builds and reinvestment projects.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver concept drawings for new restaurant builds and reinvestment projects, aligning with operational and brand standards.
- Translate Australian Standards, planning requirements and construction codes into practical, compliant design solutions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external architects, consultants and suppliers to bring projects to life.
- Review consultant work, guide design outcomes and ensure consistency with national standards.
- Develop sustainable, scalable building solutions that support environmental commitments.
- Analyse cost data and project insights to inform value‑driven design decisions.
- Represent the National Development Group in cross‑functional forums and external meetings.
- Refine design templates, documentation and standards for continuous improvement.
- Evaluate completed projects to ensure quality, consistency and alignment with expectations.
Required profile
- Degree in Architecture (registration preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an architectural consultant/designer, including at least 3 years on Class 6 buildings.
- Strong communication skills, proactive attitude and commitment to excellence.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Revit.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Advanced use of Microsoft Office.
- Experience with the Adobe suite.
