National Account Manager – Grocery

About the role

This highly visible position is responsible for managing and growing key grocery accounts for a leading Australian consumer health company. You will own strategic relationships, drive profitable sales growth and act as the partner of choice for customers across both in‑store and online channels.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of Metcash, Emerging and Export grocery accounts, delivering profitable sales growth.
• Manage customer P&L performance to meet revenue and margin targets.
• Build collaborative partnerships that position the business as the preferred partner for category expansion.
• Drive brand visibility, assortment and distribution across retail and e‑commerce platforms.
• Plan and execute promotional strategies, measuring ROI, uplift and market dynamics.
• Lead initiatives such as range reviews, tenders and new product launches.
• Partner with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance and Category teams to ensure aligned outcomes.
• Provide accurate forecasting and demand planning for base, promotional and new product activities.
• Deliver insights and performance analysis to support commercial decision‑making.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in a Key or National Account Management role within FMCG or OTC.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with proven P&L ownership.
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted, long‑term customer relationships.
• Excellent negotiation skills delivering mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Highly organised, adaptable and able to manage competing priorities.
• Confident senior‑level communication and stakeholder management.
