National Account Manager – Grocery

About the role

We are seeking a National Account Manager – Grocery to lead and expand our key customer relationships across Metcash, emerging and export accounts. In this high‑visibility position you will drive profitable sales growth, manage P&L performance and act as a strategic partner to our retail customers.

Key responsibilities

• Own Metcash, emerging and export grocery accounts, delivering revenue and margin targets.
• Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships to become the partner of choice for category growth.
• Increase brand visibility, assortment and distribution across in‑store and online channels.
• Plan, execute and evaluate promotional strategies, measuring ROI and market impact.
• Lead initiatives such as range reviews, tenders and new product launches.
• Partner with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance and Category teams to ensure aligned execution.
• Provide accurate forecasting and demand planning for baseline, promotional and new product activities.
• Deliver commercial insights and performance analysis to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in a Key or National Account Management role within FMCG or OTC.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with proven P&L ownership.
• Demonstrated ability to build long‑term trusted customer relationships.
• Excellent negotiation skills and a track record of mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Highly organised, adaptable and able to manage competing priorities.
