Maintenance Technician – Reliability Maintenance Engineering

About the role

Amazon’s Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team in Chullora, Sydney is looking for Maintenance Technicians. You will ensure safe and efficient operation of material handling, automated packaging and distribution equipment by performing preventive maintenance, responding to breakdowns and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on all site equipment, following health and safety best practices.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, communicate with affected teams and restore operation efficiently.
• Provide feedback on failures and suggest long‑term improvements to increase equipment availability.
• Support senior technicians and contribute to day‑to‑day building maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate records using the CMMS and follow relevant safety regulations.

Required profile

• Formal trade qualification – Certificate III in Electrotechnology with a current electrical licence, or Certificate III in Engineering/Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner) or equivalent Australian recognised qualification.
• Experience with planned preventative maintenance and fault finding on material handling or automation equipment.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of conveyor systems, motor controllers/inverters and relevant health & safety standards.
• Willingness to work a rotating roster (primarily Mon‑Fri 08:00‑16:00 with occasional 10‑hour shifts).
