Loader Operator

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Loader Operator to join our team at Peak Quarry in Eersteriver. The successful candidate will operate heavy‑equipment loaders safely and efficiently, supporting daily production targets in a mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the loader and any special attachments in accordance with training and safety standards.
• Complete daily pre‑start checklists and keep the equipment clean and well‑maintained.
• Report elementary mechanical issues promptly.
• Assist with housekeeping around the production area.
• Work flexible hours, including overtime and Saturdays, when required.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and take on additional tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• 3‑5 years of experience operating loaders or similar heavy equipment.
• Literacy and functional numeracy.
• Pre‑employment medical clearance and fitness under the Mine Health and Safety Act.
• Valid MQA accredited Operator’s certificate.
• Basic mechanical knowledge is advantageous.
