Lecturer – Electrical & Electronics or Robotics & Mechatronics Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a Lecturer to join the Department of Electrical, Robotics and Biomedical Engineering at Swinburne University’s Hawthorn campus. The role involves delivering high‑quality teaching and learning experiences in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Robotics & Mechatronics Engineering to undergraduate and postgraduate students, both on‑site and online.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials and workshops across the selected engineering discipline.
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Develop and enhance curriculum, contributing to program innovation.
• Supervise Honours, Masters and PhD research projects.
• Conduct research, publish in reputable journals and seek external funding.
• Build and maintain partnerships with industry, government and community stakeholders.
• Participate in departmental administration and governance activities.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Robotics & Mechatronics Engineering or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience teaching at university level in the relevant discipline.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Track record of research publications and ambition to secure external funding.
• Experience supervising group projects, preferably with industry collaboration.
