Educator – Union Education (2 positions)

About the role

The Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) is hiring two full‑time Educators to design and deliver high‑quality union education. One role focuses on general union education, while the second specialises in anti‑racism and cultural responsiveness, helping unions build inclusive workplaces.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver, review and continuously improve education programmes and learning resources across organising, campaigning, industrial strategy, health & safety, gender equity and emerging topics.
• Develop and facilitate anti‑racism and cultural responsiveness training that centres the lived experiences of First Peoples and racialised workers.
• Partner with affiliate unions to create tailored capacity‑building initiatives that meet their specific priorities.
• Collaborate with the Education Manager and the wider educator team to ensure consistent quality and alignment with ACTU’s strategic goals.

Required profile

• Experience in union education, organising, workplace health and safety, industrial strategy or related specialist fields.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate learning, collaboration and capacity building within a union context.
• For the anti‑racism role, a strong commitment to challenging racism and promoting cultural responsiveness in workplaces.
