Lecturer – Business Work Integrated Learning

About the role

We are seeking a Lecturer in Business to lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) across undergraduate and postgraduate Business and Commerce programmes at the University of the Sunshine Coast. The role will shape authentic, high‑impact learning experiences that connect academic theory with real‑world professional practice.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and evaluate a range of WIL models, including industry placements, project‑based and capstone courses, simulated and online experiences, and student mobility initiatives.
• Deliver high‑quality, student‑centred teaching for both undergraduate and postgraduate cohorts, employing innovative curriculum design and contemporary assessment methods.
• Collaborate with academic colleagues, industry partners and the university’s centralised WIL team to build and sustain regional, national and international partnerships.
• Contribute to the university’s research agenda through scholarly activity, publications and supervision of higher degree research.
• Participate in service, governance and strategic initiatives that support teaching, research and broader institutional goals.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in business education and a strong understanding of Work Integrated Learning concepts.
• Ability to develop rigorous, scalable curricula that align with current professional practice.
• Excellent collaboration skills for engaging with industry, community and interdisciplinary stakeholders.
• Commitment to inclusive and innovative teaching approaches that enhance student employability.
