Lead Civil Engineer – Power Generation

About the role

As a Lead Civil Engineer in the Power Generation team, you will drive the design and delivery of high‑quality substation and renewable energy infrastructure across large‑scale projects. You will work within a multidisciplinary environment to ensure safety, reliability and efficiency while supporting Aurecon’s carbon‑neutral ambition.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop concept and detailed designs for HV infrastructure, including substations, BESS, solar and wind projects.
• Design earthworks, roads, drainage, foundations and layout plans.
• Produce and review detailed civil engineering designs, reports, technical specifications and documentation.
• Review and interrogate civil design models using Civil3D or 12D.
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk analyses and site assessments.
• Participate in engineering, design and construction review processes, providing technical guidance.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Support digital engineering initiatives and promote innovation within the team.

Required profile

• Qualified civil engineer with experience in power generation or high‑voltage infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to lead design teams and manage complex civil works.
• Strong understanding of industry standards, guidelines and regulations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
