Finance Director – Melbourne

About the role

The Finance Director will lead the entire finance function for a fast‑growing Melbourne‑based tech company with a global audience. Reporting to the Group CFO in Europe, you will work closely with the CEO as a key commercial and financial advisor while operating with genuine autonomy in Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Full ownership of the finance function, including reporting, FP&A, controllership, compliance, treasury and tax.
• Partner directly with the CEO on commercial strategy, financial planning and execution of a major revenue growth initiative.
• Produce group‑level financial reports for a globally distributed leadership team across multiple time zones.
• Lead, develop and inspire a small, high‑performing finance team.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial systems, processes and reporting quality.
• Balance strategic oversight with hands‑on involvement in detailed financial analysis when required.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Proven experience running the full finance function end‑to‑end in a lean, high‑growth or scale‑up environment.
• Comfortable working with a globally distributed stakeholder structure.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and advise senior executives.
• AI‑forward mindset and willingness to contribute to an AI‑driven culture.
