Finance Controller

About the role

Thales is seeking a Finance Controller to join its Melbourne finance team. You will act as a key liaison between industry, production and cost accounting, providing accurate financial direction for designated bids and projects.

Key responsibilities

• Support bid/project managers by monitoring financial performance and validating decisions against Thales Management & Financial Control Manual.
• Initialize projects by reviewing Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), allocating budgets, and implementing risk and opportunity management tools.
• Coordinate financial reporting in partnership with the project management office, industrial controller, operations controller, legal & commercial teams, and sales administration.
• Ensure correct accounting of transactions in line with accounting, legal and tax standards.
• Handle day‑to‑day financial operations, including revenue and cash‑flow monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent accounting degree.
• Member of a professional accounting body or comparable qualification.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and accounting principles.
• Proficiency with ERP and financial management systems.
