Fibre Technician – Rotational Projects across Melbourne, Adelaide & NT

About the role
Stowe Australia is seeking experienced Fibre Technicians to join its Melbourne office and support a variety of projects in Melbourne, Adelaide and the Northern Territory. Work is organised on a 3‑week rotational basis with all travel and living‑away costs covered.
Key responsibilities
- Perform fibre optic splicing and jointing.
- Assemble connectors and terminate fibre, including polishing and end‑face finishing.
- Test and fault‑find fibre optic networks.
- Prepare fibre, handle cable and haul cable over long distances.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality and safety on site.
- Operate effectively in remote and varied project environments.
- Communicate professionally with supervisors, project teams and clients.
Required profile
- Proven experience in fibre splicing, connector assembly and termination.
- Background in construction, communications or infrastructure projects.
- Willingness to work away from home on a rostered basis.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Current White Card (Construction Induction) and valid driver’s licence.
- ACMA Open Cabling Registration or relevant telecommunications qualifications are highly regarded.
- Desirable: Cert III in Telecommunications or Electrical, experience in remote locations, major communications or defence projects, First Aid, EWP and Working at Heights tickets.
