Energy Engineer

About the role

Join Aurecon's Energy business in Perth and help drive the decarbonisation of Western Australia’s resource and utility energy systems. You will work with a team of specialists to design, plan and deliver renewable power generation, energy storage, and electrification projects across mining, rail and grid infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Provide network planning and connection advice for renewable generation, energy storage, islanded grids and transmission‑level networks.
• Collaborate with Australia’s largest community of grid‑scale renewable and storage experts to develop innovative solutions for clients.
• Deliver high‑quality, timely technical advice on power‑generation asset operation and development.
• Lead the deployment of cutting‑edge projects in energy storage and inverter‑based generation markets.
• Support cross‑geography projects, applying your expertise to new markets and sectors.

Required profile

• Engineering degree with post‑graduation experience in transmission and distribution, consulting, or as a developer/owner/contractor.
• Hands‑on experience with medium‑voltage transmission or distribution assets, or rail/mining fleet electrification.
• Familiarity with NWIS and/or SWIS power systems is a plus.
• Previous consultancy experience involving direct client engagement is advantageous.
• Practical site experience and a broad range of engineering projects demonstrated.
