Director - People and Culture

About the role

Betashares is seeking a Director of People and Culture to lead the day‑to‑day HR function across operations, performance, policy, engagement, reporting and development. You will partner with the Head of People & Culture to shape priorities, drive initiatives and ensure a consistent, high‑quality employee experience as the business scales.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily People & Culture activities, set priorities, cadence and stakeholder communication across the employee lifecycle.
• Partner with managers to deliver performance, role clarity, feedback and ways‑of‑working initiatives that improve outcomes and accountability.
• Leverage AI and automation to simplify workflows, build self‑serve tools and increase speed and consistency.
• Oversee performance and development processes, including manager enablement, tools, communications and continuous improvement.
• Maintain practical, up‑to‑date policies, tighten lifecycle processes, improve documentation and turn reporting into actionable insights.
• Elevate internal communications with clear toolkits, updates and key messages to reduce noise and improve alignment.
• Foster collaboration by refining rituals, ownership clarity and decision‑making structures.
• Coach and develop the People & Culture Manager through clear expectations, prioritisation and support.

Required profile

• 6‑10+ years in senior People & Culture roles with breadth across performance, operations, employee lifecycle and development, preferably in a scaling environment.
• Strong judgment and confidence advising senior colleagues.
• Proven track record of delivering HR initiatives that improve performance and employee experience.
• Ability to build trust quickly, listen to feedback and drive detail‑oriented solutions.
