Recruitment Coordinator – HR Officer (6‑Month Contract)

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Recruitment Coordinator to join our People & Culture team on a six‑month contract. The role blends end‑to‑end recruitment coordination with broader HR administration in a fast‑paced, compliance‑driven government environment.
Key responsibilities
- Support the full recruitment lifecycle, including job advertising, shortlisting, referee checks and drafting recruitment documentation.
- Coordinate interview scheduling, panel logistics and candidate communications.
- Manage recruitment inboxes and respond to enquiries from candidates and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee pre‑employment screening such as police checks, security clearances and identity verification.
- Prepare offer letters, employment contracts and onboarding materials.
- Maintain accurate recruitment and HR records to satisfy audit, privacy and merit requirements.
- Assist with labour‑hire engagements, non‑ongoing contracts and s26 transfer processing.
- Support wider People & Culture initiatives as required.
Required profile
- Previous experience in HR or recruitment coordination, preferably within government or a complex corporate setting.
- Understanding of merit‑based recruitment principles and related compliance obligations.
- Strong organisational ability to juggle multiple priorities in a high‑volume environment.
- High attention to detail and confidence handling confidential information.
- Clear, professional communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
