Design Manager – Piping Design Coordination

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Design Manager to lead piping design coordination on complex oil & gas, CSG, petrochemical and heavy‑industrial projects. You will work closely with project engineers, discipline leads and clients to deliver safe, constructible and high‑quality design solutions across local and global teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead piping design coordination, including 3D modelling, layout optimisation and constructability reviews.
• Manage multidisciplinary design integration across structural, mechanical, electrical, civil and instrumentation disciplines.
• Oversee production and review of piping isometrics, general arrangements and fabrication deliverables.
• Support smart, data‑driven engineering delivery and digital design workflows.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to designers and modelers locally and globally.
• Facilitate model reviews with project teams and clients.
• Assist planning, resourcing and delivery of piping design activities.

Required profile

• Strong experience in piping design for oil & gas, CSG, petrochemical or heavy‑industry projects.
• Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary inputs within integrated 3D environments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring or guiding designers and modelers.
• Ability to manage priorities and deliver across multiple projects.
