About the role

The Deputy Commissioner Operations – South is a senior executive position within the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS). Reporting directly to the Commissioner, this role provides strategic leadership and oversight for frontline pre‑hospital ambulance services across the southern region of Queensland.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of ambulance operations.
• Lead innovation and collaborative projects with a broad stakeholder group, including health agencies and government bodies.
• Participate in the QAS Governance Committee, ensuring robust governance, risk management, and compliance.
• Drive talent development, mobilisation, and performance accountability across the workforce.
• Foster inclusive, healthy workplaces that prioritise safety, wellbeing, and continuous learning.
• Represent QAS in external forums, building enduring relationships to support customer‑focused outcomes.
