2027 Emergency Medicine Registrar

About the role

Eastern Health is recruiting Emergency Medicine Registrars for the 2027 clinical year across its major hospitals in the eastern Melbourne region. The position is a limited‑term, full‑time role offering exposure to both adult and paediatric emergency departments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide frontline emergency care in mixed adult‑paediatric EDs at Box Hill, Maroondah and Angliss Hospitals.
• Rotate through critical care, anaesthetics, and specialised ultrasound programmes.
• Participate in mortality and morbidity meetings, quality‑improvement projects and research activities.
• Engage in teaching sessions, simulation training and mentorship of junior staff.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to AHPRA registration requirements.

Required profile

• Recent experience in Emergency Medicine; junior registrars (HMO3+) are eligible.
• Current registration with AHPRA or eligibility for provisional registration.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities and a commitment to high‑quality patient care.
• Desire to pursue ACEM training and further specialist development.

Required skills

• Emergency Ultrasound proficiency.
• Advanced Paediatric Life Support certification.
