Cyber & Secure Networks Engineers – MQ-28 Program

About the role

Join Boeing Defence Australia's Cyber and Secure Networks team on the MQ‑28 Ghost Bat program in Brisbane. The team is expanding with five specialist positions ranging from hands‑on IT system administration to senior cybersecurity engineering, all focused on delivering a bullet‑proof network for Australia’s first locally built military aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and sustain high‑assurance, multi‑domain networks for the MQ‑28 platform.
• Lead product cybersecurity across the full systems development lifecycle, from concept to sustainment.
• Administer and secure IT systems, ensuring compliance with defence security standards.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to integrate Cisco, Palo Alto and cross‑domain gateway technologies.
• Apply security engineering techniques and conduct risk assessments in accordance with ISM, PSPF, DSPF and NIST frameworks.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship (mandatory).
• Ability to obtain or hold NV1/NV2 security clearance.
• Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CRISC or CISM.
• Proven experience in cybersecurity, network architecture or IT system administration within a defence or high‑assurance environment.
