About the role
Law360 Australia is building a fast‑moving legal news service and needs a copy editor to ensure daily stories are accurate, clear and compelling. You will work closely with reporters and editors to shape the voice of the publication and publish breaking legal, regulatory and business news.
Key responsibilities
- Edit daily news stories for accuracy, clarity, structure and readability.
- Write engaging headlines for a professional audience.
- Ensure articles meet Law360 editorial standards and house style.
- Identify and flag potential legal, ethical or editorial risks.
- Provide constructive feedback to reporters and help develop newsroom style guidance.
- Edit and publish contributions from external legal experts.
Required profile
- 2–6 years of professional copy‑editing experience, preferably in a deadline‑driven news environment.
- Strong grammar, spelling and headline‑writing abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Sound editorial and news judgement, able to work independently and meet competing deadlines.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience; background as a journalist or reporter is a plus.
