C#.Net Software Engineer – Geospatial Development

About the role

Caterpillar Inc. is looking for a C#.Net Software Engineer with strong geospatial development experience to join a small, high‑impact team. You will help evolve a real‑time tracking subsystem that supports autonomous underground mining equipment and enhances safety for operators.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test production‑quality C#.Net software for a peer‑to‑peer proximity detection system.
• Integrate geospatial libraries to enable precise asset tracking underground.
• Collaborate with local and remote teams to deliver features within a larger software delivery organization.
• Provide clear technical information throughout the software development lifecycle to aid decision‑making.
• Deploy applications to Linux‑based environments and containerised platforms using CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Tertiary degree in IT, Engineering or related field, or equivalent commercial experience.
• Proven ability to work independently on complex development tasks.
• Strong communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Commitment to best‑practice development, testing, and documentation.
