Civil Rolling Stock Engineer

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Civil Rolling Stock Engineer to join its Perth rail and mass transit team. You will play a key part in building rolling‑stock capability across Australia and New Zealand, working on both passenger and heavy‑haul projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, commission and support new rolling‑stock builds.
• Develop and manage rolling‑stock maintenance strategies.
• Interpret and apply Australasian, European and American rail standards.
• Create and maintain whole‑life cost and lease models for rolling‑stock assets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver project outcomes.

Required profile

• Qualified civil or structural engineer.
• Up to three years of relevant experience; recent graduates are welcome.
• Experience in rolling‑stock or rail engineering is advantageous.

Required skills

• Rolling‑stock design.
• Maintenance strategy development.
• Whole‑life cost modelling.
• Knowledge of rail standards (Australasian, European, American).
