Business Development Manager – Scientific Recruitment

About the role

Evolve Scientific Recruitment is seeking a Business Development Manager to expand and nurture client partnerships across scientific, pharmaceutical and technical sectors. Based in Sydney, you will connect top scientific talent with leading innovators, driving growth for both clients and the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage long‑term relationships with clients ranging from start‑ups to multinational corporations.
• Identify new business opportunities, expand key accounts and pitch tailored recruitment solutions.
• Leverage scientific knowledge to translate complex technical briefs into effective recruitment strategies.
• Collaborate with hiring managers and internal consultants to deliver end‑to‑end recruitment solutions.
• Share market insights with internal teams and support national expansion initiatives.

Required profile

• STEM degree or related scientific background, preferably with lab, R&D, pharma, food or environmental experience.
• Proven success in business development, account management or consultative sales, ideally within recruitment or technical services.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to create value‑driven proposals.
• People‑first mindset, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trust quickly.
• Resilient, proactive and comfortable reaching out directly to build relationships.
• Team‑oriented with a sense of initiative and ownership.
