Android Engineer

About the role

Luxury Escapes is looking for an Android Engineer to help shape the next generation of its travel booking apps. You will work on native Android experiences that drive conversion, retention and customer lifetime value across a global audience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
• Implement new features such as improved booking flows, upsell and loyalty experiences, offline capabilities and multi‑language support.
• Collaborate with product, design and backend teams to deliver end‑to‑end functionality across the full customer journey.
• Contribute to the Node.js Backend‑for‑Frontend where needed, expanding your impact across the stack.
• Write automated tests and ensure high‑quality, scalable code.

Required profile

• Strong experience building native Android apps with Kotlin (Java experience a plus).
• Proficiency with Jetpack Compose and modern Android UI patterns.
• Solid understanding of Android frameworks, SDK and architectural patterns such as MVVM or Clean Architecture.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and delivering reliable offline experiences.
• Comfort using AI‑augmented development tools to improve code quality and speed.
• Ability to mentor junior and mid‑level engineers.
• Interest in or willingness to work with Node.js services.
