Senior Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of high‑performance, cloud‑native solutions in Sydney. The role focuses on building event‑driven microservices and driving best‑in‑class engineering practices across the team.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop scalable, low‑latency microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design cloud‑native solutions on AWS, leveraging Kafka, Apigee and Kubernetes.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation to ensure rapid, reliable releases.
• Produce high‑level and low‑level design documentation, integration patterns and API contracts.
• Mentor and lead engineering teams, promoting best practices and a high‑performance culture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into secure, resilient architectures.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in designing and delivering microservices‑based, event‑driven systems.
• Deep expertise in Java (Spring Boot) and extensive hands‑on experience with AWS, Kafka, Apigee and Kubernetes.
• Proven track record of building high‑throughput, mission‑critical applications.
• Strong leadership, mentoring and stakeholder communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
