Youth Support Practitioner

About the role

Capital Region Community Services (CRCS) is seeking a Youth Support Practitioner for its Youth Engagement Team, based at the Belconnen Youth Centre. The role works directly with vulnerable and at-risk young people aged 10-25, helping them build confidence, strengthen connections and access the support they need.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support and direction to the Youth Engagement Team for children and young people aged 10-25 in the Capital Region
• Provide support, advocacy and short-term casework to young people
• Conduct intake, assessment and support planning
• Deliver outreach to engage young people who may be vulnerable or disengaged
• Facilitate youth programs, activities and drop-in sessions
• Build relationships with schools, community organisations and other support services
• Help young people access housing, health, education, employment and other specialist services
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to program outcomes and evaluation

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master of Social Work from an Australian accredited university
• Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
• Experience working with young people facing complex challenges
• Current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
• Current First Aid Certificate
