Youth Coach - Get Set for Work Program

About the role

IMPACT Community Services Limited is seeking a Youth Coach for its Get Set for Work Program in Bundaberg. The role is full time and fixed term until 23 June 2027. The Youth Coach inspires, engages and supports young people aged 15 to 19 who face barriers to education, training or employment, using positive mentoring, individual coaching and practical support to help them build confidence, develop employability skills and move toward their future.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, engage and case manage young people, helping them overcome barriers and reach their training and employment goals
• Develop and monitor individual training plans that build skills and support progression into further education, training or employment
• Prepare participants for employment through job search, application, interview and post-placement support
• Build relationships with community stakeholders and connect participants with support services and opportunities
• Maintain accurate records, reporting and program documentation in line with contractual and organisational requirements
• Collaborate with colleagues and take part in team meetings, supervision and professional development

Required profile

• Understanding of the challenges faced by disadvantaged and disengaged young people
• Experience supporting, coaching or mentoring young people toward personal, education, training or employment goals
• Ability to build rapport with young people, employers, training providers and community stakeholders
• Strong coaching, mentoring and motivational skills
• Experience identifying barriers and linking people with appropriate support services
• Ability to plan, develop and run engaging programs, group activities and training sessions
• Well-developed communication, organisational and time management skills, able to work independently and collaboratively

Required skills

• Administration and computer skills, including case notes, reports and client management systems
• Background checks, including a Working with Children Check, may be required before employment
