Wind Farm Field Service Technician

About the role

Bango Wind Farm, the third largest operational wind farm in NSW, is looking for a field service technician. The 244MW farm, built on Ngunnawal Country and fully operational in 2023, uses 46 GE Cypress turbines. The role involves maintaining and troubleshooting turbines at the front line of renewable energy, with a 37.5-hour week and on-call rosters.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on turbines and site infrastructure
• Follow GE manuals, specifications and work instructions for tasks and inspections
• Carry out maintenance, fault finding and high voltage switching operations
• Take part in annual maintenance, retrofit works, major component exchanges and fault finding
• Use GE software tools to maintain reports and submit technical queries
• Comply with JSA, LOTO and EHS policies and report issues promptly
• Decide on conformance or non-conformance after inspections and report errors, incidents and problems through GE reporting systems
• Work a 37.5-hour week, with overtime and on-call rosters for after-hours or weekend work as directed

Required profile

• Qualified electrician (NSW)
• Current unrestricted driver's licence
• Comfortable working at heights and climbing turbines
• Commitment to safety standards, high performance and continuous improvement
• Independent, solutions-focused and well organised
• Open to travel to other sites as required

Required skills

• Fault finding on electrical, mechanical and hydraulic equipment
• Use of computer systems and tools for monitoring work and managing documentation
• Strong written and verbal English
