WHS & HR Coordinator

About the role

Join a well‑established Australian SME operating across multiple Sydney sites as a WHS & HR Coordinator. Reporting to the Head of HR, you will drive workplace health and safety initiatives while supporting all HR and recruitment functions in a fast‑paced, people‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate WHS compliance across several sites, conduct inductions, incident reporting, investigations and manage workers‑compensation claims.
• Facilitate WHS Committee meetings, conduct site inspections, hazard identification and risk assessments.
• Maintain WHS documentation, policies, procedures and the WHS Management System.
• Oversee employee licences, certifications and compliance records.
• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, including references, visas, onboarding and off‑boarding.
• Maintain employee records in the HRIS, update contracts and draft employment letters.
• Provide first‑line HR advice on employee relations, performance matters and support culture and engagement programs.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as a WHS Coordinator, preferably in a multi‑site environment.
• Knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and the Fair Work Act.
• Ability to build strong relationships across all organisational levels.
• Proactive, hands‑on approach with willingness to travel between sites.
• HR support experience and a tertiary qualification in HR or WHS is desirable but not essential.
