About the role

The Vice‑Chancellor's Research Fellowships at RMIT provide a unique opportunity to lead high‑quality, transdisciplinary research in Digital Innovation. Fellows are appointed on a 3‑ or 4‑year fixed‑term contract to develop cutting‑edge solutions that generate societal, economic and environmental impact.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute applied research projects in areas such as Quantum Digital Innovation, AI‑driven manufacturing, health equity, and big‑data decision intelligence.
• Collaborate with RMIT’s interdisciplinary networks and external partners to maximise research impact.
• Publish findings in leading journals and present at international conferences.
• Mentor junior researchers and contribute to the development of research programmes.
• Secure additional research funding and translate outcomes into real‑world applications.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent research qualification with a strong record of scholarly achievement.
• Demonstrated expertise in digital innovation and a clear vision for future research directions.
• Proven ability to work across disciplines and engage with industry, government or community stakeholders.
• Commitment to RMIT’s mission of societal impact and inclusive research environments.
