Ventilation & Projects Engineer

About the role

Westgold Resources is seeking a technically strong Ventilation & Projects Engineer to support safe and efficient underground gold extraction in Western Australia. Reporting to the Senior Planning Engineer, you will own ventilation systems, contribute to major underground projects and develop your expertise in a hands‑on environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with WA Mines Safety & Inspection Regulations, site standards and best‑practice ventilation requirements.
• Deliver and review ventilation plans for development, production and project activities.
• Support the management of ventilation systems across underground operations, including modelling and simulation using Ventsim.
• Conduct primary and secondary ventilation monitoring, identify improvement opportunities and recommend system upgrades.
• Assist in delivering underground projects such as booster fan chamber installations, dewatering upgrades and compressed‑air system improvements.
• Support the auditing of underground escapeway systems and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Experience in underground mining environments.
• Working knowledge of ventilation planning and monitoring (Ventsim experience highly regarded).
• Understanding of WA mining legislation and safety standards.
• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Current C Class Driver's Licence (desirable) and First Aid Certificate.
