Ventilation Engineer – Underground Mining (Perth FIFO or Local)

About the role

We are seeking a Ventilation Engineer to join our Underground Mining Team at St Ives Gold Mine. The role can be based on a FIFO roster from Perth or locally in Kambalda/Kalgoorlie and focuses on optimizing ventilation to support safe and efficient gold extraction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute ventilation plans across life‑of‑mine, quarterly, weekly and monthly horizons, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
• Coordinate ventilation constraints, issue instructions and provide direction to mining crews, contractors and graduates.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement projects, capital infrastructure planning and performance monitoring of ventilation systems.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Current manual driver’s licence.
• Proven experience in underground engineering with exposure to long‑hole drilling, blasting, ventilation, project planning and scheduling, preferably in gold mining.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using mining software such as Deswik CAD.
• Familiarity with Ventsim is highly regarded.
