Underground Mine Planning Engineer (Perth FIFO)

About the role

Gold Fields is hiring a Planning Engineer for its underground operations at Agnew, reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Planning. You will deliver short- and medium-term planning and scheduling to meet safety, production and cost targets aligned with Agnew's strategic objectives. The position is permanent, on an 8 days on and 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop accurate short- to medium-term mine plans supporting operational objectives and LOM timeframes.
• Review economic evaluations for each mine design to ensure financial objectives are met under the determined cut-off grades.
• Ensure mine plans account for ventilation, infrastructure, DnB and paste fill needs.
• Prepare stope designs, decline, escapeway and level plan layouts, and mining instructions aligned with the mining schedule.
• Create infrastructure plans and schedules aligned with mining interactions and budget constraints.
• Provide timely planning guidance for the mining department's production schedules and collaborate across departments on key projects.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of statutory safety requirements in mining and ability to obtain the WA FCMM Certificate (UG time completed).
• Strong underground engineering experience, ideally in gold.
• Manual driver's licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office and mining software such as Deswik CAD, Deswik Scheduler and Ventsim.
