Underground Maintenance Electrician

About the role

Whitehaven Coal is seeking qualified electricians to support its underground mining operations. The role involves maintaining and repairing equipment and infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient production at a long‑life coal mine.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and preventative maintenance on underground mining equipment and systems.
• Maintain plant availability through inspections, fault finding, diagnosis and remedial actions.
• Identify and report defects, updating maintenance and production logs accurately.
• Complete planned and routine maintenance in line with schedules and statutory requirements.
• Contribute to root‑cause analysis and continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability.

Required profile

• Australian recognised Electrical Trade Qualification.
• Experience in an underground coal mine or strong background as an industrial electrician (e.g., fixed plant, processing plants, heavy industry).
• Ability to work rotating shifts (day, afternoon and night) and meet clean‑shaven safety requirements.
