Undergraduate Structural Design Engineer

About the role

Paragon Engineering, a specialist engineering consultancy active throughout Australia with a focus on infrastructure and building, is expanding its team and is looking for a graduate Structural Design Engineer. The role suits someone in their final year of study or a recent graduate who wants to learn within a high-performing team. Duties include assisting on milestone projects in design and analysis, drafting and technical reporting, and working across temporary works, infrastructure and ground engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Apply design principles and methodologies to carry out calculations
• Prepare drawings in Autodesk Revit
• Conduct finite element analysis and prepare 3D drawings
• Carry out technical design from concept through to detailed design
• Produce technical reports
• Participate in site investigations
• Collaborate with team members and support project planning and coordination

Required profile

• Degree in Structural Engineering, or completing the final year of study
• Understanding of the importance of meeting deadlines and delivering value and exceptional service
• Growth mindset and proactive approach to career development
• Familiarity with local codes and standards
• Ability to communicate with clients and team members to deliver work on time
• Demonstrated experience using engineering software
• Knowledge of Geotechnical Engineering highly regarded
