Undergraduate IT Internship 2027

About the role

Cummins is offering a 13-month full-time internship at its Scoresby office, starting 27 January 2027, for undergraduate IT students. The main aim is to help deliver application support and IT services across the Asia Pacific region by working with IT teams responsible for business applications and service delivery. The placement is paid and requires deferring studies for the full 13 months.

Key responsibilities

• Support the delivery, maintenance and support of business applications and IT services.
• Log, categorise, prioritise, track and resolve incidents and service requests in line with agreed service levels.
• Act as a contact for users with application and service questions, giving clear updates and building relationships with customers, support teams and suppliers.
• Help with application monitoring, routine maintenance, access requests, testing, documentation and knowledge-base updates.
• Work with users, technical teams and management to investigate recurring issues, support problem resolution and find ways to improve applications and services.

Required profile

• Currently studying a Bachelor of Information Technology or a similar degree.
• Between 1 and 8 units of study left to complete as of January 2027.
• Able to commit to the full 13 months and willing to defer studies.

Required skills

• General knowledge of IT functions, business applications, incident management, service requests and user access support.
• Strong use of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365, Teams and email.
• Interest in service management processes and basic data analysis or reporting.
• Analytical, troubleshooting, documentation and project coordination skills, plus good communication, teamwork and time management.
