Tutor Sonographer

About the role

Darling Downs Radiology (DDR), part of the Integral Diagnostics (IDX) Group, is looking for an experienced Tutor Sonographer in Toowoomba. This hybrid role combines hands-on clinical scanning with mentoring and educating postgraduate and undergraduate sonographers, while continuing to deliver patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one clinical training to postgraduate student sonographers throughout their 24-month training program.
• Mentor undergraduate sonography students during clinical placements.
• Support competency assessments, progress reviews and ongoing professional development.
• Coordinate student workflows, diary management and learning opportunities.
• Take part in IDX education programs and tutor forums to improve training standards.
• Balance clinical scanning with education in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Required profile

• Graduate Diploma or Master of Medical Sonography (ASAR accredited).
• At least five years of clinical sonography experience.
• Genuine passion for teaching, mentoring and developing others.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong technical knowledge and commitment to high-quality patient care.

Required skills

• Experience with RIS/PACS and digital reporting platforms (desirable).
