Transport Officer (Casual) – Community Services

About the role

The Transport Officer provides safe, reliable, and respectful transport services to older community members, helping them attend appointments, centre‑based activities and social outings. This casual position supports independence, wellbeing and social inclusion across metropolitan Adelaide.

Key responsibilities

• Transport clients to medical appointments, community centres and social events.
• Support clients in maintaining independence and reducing social isolation.
• Follow client support plans and organisational procedures.
• Conduct home safety observations and report concerns.
• Maintain accurate documentation and incident reports.
• Liaise with coordinators on client updates and service changes.
• Perform vehicle safety inspections and keep vehicles clean.
• Adhere to road safety requirements and safe driving practices.
• Provide professional, respectful customer service at all times.

Required profile

• Caring and dependable with a genuine interest in working with older people.
• Strong communication skills and a professional approach.
• Ability to work independently and manage flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Required skills

• Current driver’s licence.
• Access to a reliable, registered and insured vehicle.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Current National Police Check.
• Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to use mobile phones and basic technology systems.
