Transport Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Transport Engineer to join its Transport team. You will work on a variety of projects ranging from local intersection upgrades to major freeway interchanges, active transport corridors and precinct‑scale developments.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to planning, analysis and concept design of traffic and transport solutions for road, active transport and precinct projects.
• Lead transport feasibility studies, transport planning strategies and traffic impact assessments.
• Provide trusted advice to transport agencies and private developers, including workshop participation and presentations.
• Coordinate traffic and transport inputs within multi‑disciplinary projects, collaborating with road design, civil, planning and digital teams.
• Mentor junior traffic/transport engineers, supporting their technical and consulting development.
• Support business development by contributing to bids, client relationships and new service offerings, including digital tools and automation.

Required profile

• Degree in civil or transport engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in traffic engineering and transport planning, preferably on Australian or New Zealand projects.
• Strong knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines such as Austroads and state government requirements.
• Proven experience leading traffic inputs on multi‑disciplinary infrastructure projects with client‑facing delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear report writing.
• Chartered status (CPEng) or a clear pathway toward it.
