Transport Allocator

About the role

Sims Limited is establishing a centralised transport desk for its ANZ operations. As a Transport Allocator you will manage real‑time allocation of internal and external fleets, influencing cost and service performance across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Own daily scheduling and real‑time allocation across ANZ fleets.
• Serve as the first point of contact for transport requests, changes, and service issues.
• Balance cost, service, and operational constraints when making live allocation decisions.
• Monitor fleet and bin utilisation, identifying opportunities to reduce idle time and improve asset productivity.
• Maintain accurate transport system data to ensure real‑time visibility of all movements.
• Record jobs, allocations, and completions correctly for billing and contractor payments.
• Execute allocations within Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and NHVR regulatory frameworks.
• Liaise with customers, drivers, contractors, and internal teams to keep operations flowing.

Required profile

• Experience in transport allocation or coordination (e.g., waste collection, bulk haulage, multi‑drop logistics).
• Proactive decision‑maker who owns outcomes.
• Strong relationship‑building and clear communication skills.
• Focus on cost efficiency and results.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) framework.
• Understanding of NHVR regulations and compliance.
