Procurement Specialist

About the role

As a Procurement Specialist at HBF you will support the sourcing, evaluation and negotiation of contracts for goods and services that keep the organisation running smoothly. You will act as a trusted business partner, working closely with contract owners and managers to deliver value while ensuring compliance with procurement policies.

Key responsibilities

• Advise stakeholders on procurement processes and ensure compliance with internal policies and government regulations.
• Lead supplier evaluation activities, including RFIs and RFPs, engage with potential suppliers and analyse responses to recommend the best fit.
• Collaborate with contract managers and legal teams to support contract negotiations and ensure agreements meet standards.
• Manage contract renewals and variations, maintaining accurate procurement records.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities in procurement processes and mentor colleagues.

Required profile

• Strong communicator who can lead negotiations and supplier evaluations.
• Experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably with contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
• Ability to educate peers on procurement processes.
• Familiarity with health, insurance or not‑for‑profit sectors is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement software.
• Data analysis and reporting tools.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Understanding of Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) processes.
