Training Superintendent

About the role

Glencore's Mount Isa Mines Operations (MIM) employs over 2,000 people and includes the George Fisher Mine, concentrators, smelters and processing infrastructure producing zinc, copper, lead and silver. The Training Superintendent leads a core team of training professionals and works closely with crew trainers embedded across operational areas so that training delivery is coordinated, consistent and aligned with the competency framework and priorities. The role is accountable for onboarding, competency provision, assessment and verification across the operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of training professionals across a large and complex mining and processing facility
• Ensure training delivery is coordinated and consistent with the competency framework and operational priorities
• Deliver onboarding, competency provision, assessment and verification across the operation
• Work with crew trainers embedded in operational areas

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, plus a diploma or tertiary qualification in Training, Education, Human Resource Development or a related field
• 5+ years in training delivery, coordination or competency management, ideally across trade/technical and processing environments
• 3+ years leading a team, with proven coaching, development and performance management
• Experience coordinating training across multiple work areas or with dispersed trainers
• Sound understanding of competency-based training and assessment, and familiarity with mining and processing operations
• Experience maintaining accurate training records and reporting systems

Required skills

• Managing competing priorities, scheduling and resourcing across a busy training calendar
• Communication and interpersonal skills across the workforce, supervisors and management
• Active leadership and ability to build effective working relationships
